2. THOMAS MONROE2 MALONE (UNKNOWN1)2,3 was born 1832 in Tennessee3, and died Bef. 18674. He married CYNTHIA A. JOHNSON5,6 16 May 1861 in Montgomery County, Texas6. She was born 1840 in Mississippi7, and died Aft. 18708.
Notes for THOMAS MONROE MALONE:
Thomas and Cynthia (Johnson) Malone were married in Montgomery County, Texas in 1861. Thomas must have died before 1870. I have seen records stated they both died before 1867. However, that is not true. In 1870, Madison County, Texas, you can find Cynthia and the children living with J. H. Johnson age 35. J.H. Johnson could be a brother or cousin. By 1880, you can not find Cynthia but the children are seperated making one believe she must have died. Eugene is still in Madison County, Texas at age 18 living in his uncle's household, William Viser. Howard, Charles and Bertie are living with their uncle William Farrington Malone in Willis, Montgomery County, Texas. Their are court records that record William F. Malone as legal guardian of the three younger children.

After college Hap Malone married Kelsie Lee Wallace from Center, Shelby County, Texas. Hap was coaching at Center High School when their daughter Joann was born in 1933. In the year 1937, Hap was coaching at Robert E. Lee High School located in Baytown,Texas. His son, Hayden Patrick, was born in Goosecreek, Texas. Goosecreek was part of a Tri-City. After World War II, Goosecreek and Pelly were incorporated into Baytown, Texas. During the war most of the sports programs were cancelled and Hap enlisted into the United States Navy. After the war he moved his family closer to home and settled in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas where he coached at Huntsville High School for about a year. The following year he was hired to re-start the baseball program at Sam Houston Teachers College. He died in Huntsville, Texas in 1960.
